Mission Statement

To strengthen the family by providing after school programs including tuition, a hot meal, and various activities to engage and support school going children in Lalitpur, Nepal.

Needs Statement

Children who live in slum and impoverished communities face many obstacles in pursuing their educational goals as many lack parental support, ample time/space to study, and pressure to earn money to assist their families. Our program encourages education, provides tutoring and a hot meal that help families keep their children in school.

Description

This project in Kathmandu, Nepal serves children living on the street and families residing in impoverished communities. To date, we have restored over 600 hundred children, living and working on the streets of Kathmandu, back home with their families. These children become re-established in their communities/villages and we help the families to get the children re-enrolled in school and a part of family life.

Funds are needed for hot meals, hygiene, educational supplies, tutoring, and counseling for approximately 30 children.
