Mission Statement

To provide a safe place for boys living and working on the streets of Delhi, India.

Needs Statement

It is estimated that 400,000 children live and work on the streets of Delhi. These children are orphans or have parents who cannot afford to care for them. On the street, they are often victims of abuse and exploitation. Some statistics state that over 50% of street children suffer from verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. We provide a safe place for these boys to be cared for.

Description

The boys we care for in our Global Family Boys’ Shelter in Delhi need medical care. Many of these boys have been living away from home and on the street for long periods of time with little or no care whatsoever. We are able to provide a safe place for them to come every evening, and, as part of our care, we want to provide for medical visits and treatment!

This shelter provides a safe place for up to 25 young boys living and working on the streets of New Delhi. The boys are invited to come in, clean up, enjoy a hot meal, and spend time with our team throughout the evening. They are given a clean bed to sleep on and breakfast before heading out for the day. The goal is to not only provide for the boys’ immediate needs but to build relationships and encourage them to return home with their families or find alternative care.
