An estimated 100 million migrant laborers in India are daily wage earners who live 'hand to mouth'. With the current lockdown restrictions, they no longer have work and are fleeing the large cities by the millions to walk back to their villages to avoid starvation.
$5 feeds a family. The Indian government has invited NGO’s like Global Family India to help in the relief effort of daily wage earners. Global Family’s team in New Delhi is organizing an effort of local churches to purchase and distribute food packets to families in transit as well as those stuck in the city with no way to feed their families. A family food packet costs $5 USD and will provide enough food for a family for one day through these very dangerous and trying times. We can’t help all of them, but every $5 donation can literally save a family’s life.
